ROAM Adventures is seeking experienced rafting guides/trip-leaders to join our 2016 team!
Our rafting trips take place on the famous Chilko-Chilcotin-Fraser rivers between Bella Coola and Williams Lake. We offer 3-8 day off-the-grid adventures that also include multi-sport activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking and horseback riding.
Our standards for guest services are very high; guides must have a positive attitude, work well as a team player in various group dynamics and adapt to changing environments. In addition to steering watercraft guides need to be able to interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner and be prepared to go that extra mile to provide unforgettable experiences. We have many international clients so a second (or multiple) language(s) is a strong asset.
Job duties include:
-Guiding rafts down remote class III-V whitewater rapids
-Instructing guests about local history and culture, flora, fauna and geology.
-Gear preparation, maintenance, repair
-Providing safety briefings and demos, managing large groups of clients, following emergency and safety protocols, supporting and training guides, providing first aid, CPR and river rescue when necessary, completing required paperwork
-Expedition style cooking, cleaning, teamwork and hospitality
A minimum of 3 years guiding class IV whitewater is required (or 4 years to work as a trip leader), as well as first aid certification and Swift Water Rescue certification.
Wages are $22-$25/hour June 1- Sept 30th, 2016
